Porcelain figurine of a large polar bear, Józefów, Poland

A very large, noble Polar bear, made of white glazed porcelain at the renowned Polish porcelain manufactory Józefów in the 1920s-1930s of the last century. The sculpture is executed in the Art Deco style.

A very valuable and popular figure in Poland. It is this Polar bear figure that became iconic for Józefów, and its image is featured on the manufactory's hallmark!

The sculpture is very rarely found in such a large size!

Excellent collector's condition. No visible damage, cracks, chips, micro-cracks, restorations, or manufacturing defects. The piece exhibits slight craquelure, which is characteristic of porcelain over time and serves as additional confirmation of its authenticity and considerable age!

A very large work. Height: 25 cm. Length: 32 cm.

On the bottom of the piece is the hallmark: Józefów Poland.

An identical sculpture is held in the collection of the Silesian Museum in Katowice.

The Józefów porcelain manufactory was founded in the Polish city of Czeladź in 1924 and ceased production in 2008.
