The Lladro company was founded in Valencia, Spain in 1953. The Lladro brothers worked in Valencia at a porcelain factory that produced ceramic tableware and tiles. In 1953, they decided to start their own production of porcelain figurines and statuettes in the classical style, made in the best traditions of the 17th century. By the 1960s, the world had already learned about this Spanish brand. In 1969, the brothers built their own huge complex, the "City of Porcelain." The high collector demand for Spanish statuettes is explained by the fact that production runs do not exceed 5,000 pieces. After production, the unique mold is destroyed so that no one can reproduce it. The products are made entirely by hand and painted only with natural paints. The pieces are distinguished by a delicate, restrained palette, mainly consisting of gray and beige-brown colors, and an endless combination of pastel shades, perfectly matching the delicacy and purity of porcelain. The name Daisa on the stamp is the name of the company department that holds the intellectual property rights for the figurines. Today, Lladro figurines can be found in the collections of the Hermitage, the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels, and the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo.
The uniqueness of the Lladro brothers' company lies in the fact that its artists have turned the creation of porcelain figurines into a high art form with its own philosophy. When the Lladro brothers founded the company, they decided that all porcelain products would be dedicated only to the positive and bright aspects of life, and they called their philosophy the "circle of life." Figurine dimensions: Height 30 cm, base diameter – 10 cm.
The "Geisha with Umbrella" figurine is a magnificent collectible exhibit. As a result of display storage, the condition is perfect, without defects, chips, cracks, or restoration.
