Today, as in the mid-18th century, porcelain figurines of animals, people, flowers, and other subjects are made by hand. The manufacturing technology involves creating items from "hard" and "soft" materials, which have different raw material compositions and undergo different firing regimes.
However, despite advancements and mass production, porcelain figurines are highly individual. Their creation involves not only a master craftsman but also an artist who performs hand-painting with overglaze and underglaze paints.
