  • Description: Pavel Fedorovich Sazikov (died in the 1830s), founder of the Moscow firm "Sazikov," opened a workshop and store in 1810. He used a mark depicting his surname "SAZIKOV," above which, within a circle, is a double-headed eagle with an imperial crown. His son, Ignaty Pavlovich, continued the business in Moscow and founded a branch in St. Petersburg; after his death, the Moscow business passed to his eldest son, Sergey Ignatyevich (died 1879), and the St. Petersburg branch was inherited by his second son, Valentin Ignatyevich (died October 25, 1877); with the death of both brothers, the firm ceased to exist; from 1857, the firm held the title of Purveyor to the Court. Examples of the master's work: salt cellar, slotted spoon, travel necessaire, album frame, State Historical Museum; sculptural group, State Hermitage Museum; blini dish, Russian Ethnographic Museum.
