  • Description: Keibel Otto Samuel (b. 1768 in Prussia, d. 1809). In 1797, a guild master goldsmith and jeweler in St. Petersburg; in 1807-1808, an alderman. An outstanding master and jeweler who had apprentices, including his son Johann Wilhelm Keibel. After his father's death, J. W. Keibel continued his father's business, retaining his mark. In 1825-1828, he was assistant to the warden, and from 1828, warden of the foreign guild. In 1828, Keibel the Younger made the Russian Imperial Crown. From 1836 to 1841, he was entrusted with the manufacture of order insignia. The last known information about the Keibel factory dates to 1910.
