Reverse
The reverse side features a circular engraved inscription: 'For Excellent Success and Exemplary Behavior'. At the top are a hammer and sickle, the symbol of Soviet power. Ears of wheat are placed on both sides, entwined with a ribbon bearing the inscriptions: 'KSSR'. At the bottom, the medal is signed: 'KazSSR'.
Obverse
The relief medal has a silver coating. An open book is depicted in the center. Its lower part is completed with a laurel branch. Above the book is a star, from which sun rays emanate. An inscription in the Kazakh language is depicted in a semicircle.
