Reverse
The central part features a stylized depiction of a totem pole. It displays figures - in the center is a flower bud within a circle, above it is a lattice, further up is a flower on a ribbon, and at the top of the upward-facing images is a crab. Extending downwards from the central flower is an image of a lattice, below which is a heraldic fleur-de-lis, and beneath that is a harp decorated on the left side with a mermaid. To the left of the totem, in the upper part, is a relief image of a leaping lion, with allegorical representations of three lions above it. To the right is a running bull, with fanciful variations of three lions depicted below it. At the top right, a stylized triangle adjoins the rim. Inside the triangle is the English text "FIVE POUNDS". At the bottom left of the totem is a heraldic depiction of a crown.
Obverse
The central part features a gold-plated right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown.
