    In the upper part of the coin is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below, in the center, the denomination is struck—the numeral 1. Under the denomination is the name of the monetary unit in one line—'KOPEYKA'. Below runs a straight line, under which the mint mark 'K.M.' (Kolpino Mint) is indicated. Along the edges of the rim is a wreath of laurel and oak branches, tied with a ribbon at the base. Around the entire edge of the coin, raised dots are struck.
  • Obverse
    The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between the heads. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'A', under the left—'M'. The initials of mintmaster Andrei Mevius. Under the initials is the year of mintage '1827.'. The rim is decorated with dots.
