    In the central part, the monogram of Empress Catherine I under the imperial crown is depicted large.

    In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with raised, spread wings, its heads wearing crowns. A third, larger crown is between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under each talon are 5 counting dots in two rows. The dots symbolize the coin's denomination. To the left of the eagle is the inscription 'GRIVE', to the right — 'NNIK'. Below the eagle is the issue date '1726'. The edge of the coin features patterned relief elements.
