  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features a simplified version of the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — the traditional double-headed eagle, but executed without complex elements. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned above between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'N', under the left the letter 'D'. The eagle is encircled by a beaded border. Beyond this border, closer to the edge and equally spaced, are five raised dots (indicating the coin's denomination).
