    In the central part, the gate of the Elvas fort is depicted, above it the coat of arms of Portugal: an armillary sphere, within which the lesser coat of arms of the country is inscribed. On the arch is an inscription in Portuguese 'FORTE DA GRACA' (Forte da Graça). Along the rim are inscriptions in Portuguese: at the top the country name 'REPÚBLICA•PORTUGUESA' (Portuguese Republic), at the bottom – '2,5 EURO' (2.5 Euro).
