The central part features the denomination — the inscription 'ДЕНЬГА' (Denga). Above the denomination is a six-pointed star. Above it is the imperial crown. Below is a line, under which are the letters 'И.М.' (Izhora Mint). In the left part of the coin along the edge is a laurel branch, and in the right part an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon. The coin's edge is decorated with a beaded border.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'П', under the left 'С'. These are the initials of mintmaster Pavel Stupitsyn. Below the initials is the year of minting '1812.'. The border is decorated with beads.
