The center of the coin is occupied by the monogram of Peter I — four crossed letters "P" (П), between which are four signs "İ" (I with a dot above). Inside the monogram, the first two digits of the minting year "17" are indicated on the left, and "23" on the right. Along the entire circumference of the coin's edge, an inscription is struck, separated by four imperial crowns: МОНЕТА ♚ НОВАѦ ♚ ЦЕНА ♚ РꙊБЛЬ ♚. Around the edge of the coin — a twisted border.
Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by a right-facing profile portrait of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Below the sleeve's edge — the letters "OK", the initials of the medallist Osip Kalashnikov. Around the portrait, the text reads: ПЕТРЪ А ИМПЕРАТОРЪ IСАМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОССИIСКИI. The rim appears as a braided rope.
