Reverse The upper part of the coin features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below the crown are a six-pointed star and the denomination – 'ДЕНЬГА' (DENGA). Below this is a line, under which the abbreviation 'К.М.' (Kolpino Mint) is struck. On the left side near the edge is a laurel branch, and on the right, an oak branch. The bases of the branches are tied with a ribbon. Raised dots are struck along the edge of the coin.
Obverse The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow – a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'A', under the left – 'M'. These are the initials of mintmaster Alexey Maleev. Below the initials is the year of mintage '1815.'. The rim is decorated with dots.
