Within a stylized arch frame — architectural monuments of Yaroslav's Court: at the top — the arcade of the Gostiny Dvor (Merchant's Yard), the Gate Tower, below them — the main churches of the ensemble; in the center of the disc — two ancient coins, to the right of them — images of four merchants; at the bottom — images of two coins and a birch bark document, above them — figures of six men and goods in a trading scene; in the background at the top — three sailing boats against the outline of the Novgorod Kremlin. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in a semicircle — at the top on the matte surface of the arch: 'VELIKY NOVGOROD AND ITS SURROUNDINGS', at the bottom: 'YAROSLAV'S COURT'.
