In the central part, a three-line inscription: '20 EURO CENT'. To the left of the inscription is the outline of Europe, from which six vertical rays extend upwards and downwards. Along the arc of the left edge of the coin, crossing these rays, are twelve five-pointed stars. To the right of the inscription is the monogram 'LL' - the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx. The edge of the coin has seven indentations.
Obverse
In the central part, an image of an ancient sailing-rowing vessel. Above and to the right of it, a semi-circular inscription: 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ.2008.KIBRIS' - the name of the state in Greek and Turkish and the year of minting. Along the edge of the coin are twelve five-pointed stars. The edge of the coin has seven indentations.
