    In the central part on the right are large numerals '50', below them a two-line inscription in English 'EURO / CENT' – meaning 'fifty euro cents'. To the right of the numerals is the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx 'LL'. In the central part on the left are the outlines of the eurozone countries. From them, six vertical parallel lines extend upwards and downwards, with 12 stars at their ends.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is an image of the Sower (Marianne). To her left are horizontal stripes, among which the mint year '2001' is placed. To the right of the female figure are six vertical stripes, against their background the symbols 'RF' – the French mark on European Union coins. Between the stripes at the top is a horizontal inscription in French with the name of the artist Louis Oscar Roty – 'L.JORIO d`ap. O.ROTY'. At the level of the Sower's feet, on the left is the mark of the Paris Mint (cornucopia), on the right – the mark of its Chief Engraver Gérard Buquoy (horseshoe).
