    The center of the coin is occupied by the monogram of Empress Catherine II Alekseyevna the Great. Above it is the crown of the Russian Empire. To the left of the monogram is the first part of the minting year — '17', and to the right the second — '95'. In the left part of the coin, along the edge of the rim, runs a laurel branch, and in the right part, a palm branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The coin's border is made in the form of denticles.
