In the central part, the word 'MARKKAA'. Above the word is the denomination – the number 10. Below the word is a decorative separator in the form of two opposing curved lines with a dot between them. Below the separator is the year of minting '1881'. Around the central image is a twisted border. Outside the border, a circular inscription: 2,903..GRM. KULTAA. 0,322..GRM. KUPARIA., divided at the top by a rosette of 6 dots. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing inward. - Obverse
In the central part, the full coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Finland is depicted – a double-headed eagle, the heads of which are crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. On the eagle's chest is a shield with the titular coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Finland, crowned with a princely crown. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left – an orb. Under the tail, on the right, is the mark of the director of the Helsinki Mint – the initial 'S', August Frederick Soldan. At the bottom, along the edge, in a semicircle, the text: FINLAND SUOMI divided by a stylized rosette of seven dots. The rim is decorated with denticles.
