    The denomination is indicated on three lines (with quatrefoils to the left and right), followed by the monetary unit and year of issue: ✤ 2 ✤ KOPEYKI 1856. Below is a divider of two ornamental lines with a dot between them. Directly beneath it is the abbreviation "V.M." (Warsaw Mint).
  • Obverse
    The center of the obverse features a double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both eagle heads bear crowns, with a larger third crown between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a dragon with a long spear (the dragon's head is to the right). The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. The coats of arms on the wings: Left wing: Polish, Taurian, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. The right talon holds a scepter, the left an orb. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing inward.
