    The center of the coin is occupied by the monogram of the Autocrat of All Russia, Elizabeth I Petrovna. Above it is the crown of the Russian Empire. The year of the coin's minting is split into two parts. To the left of the monogram is the first part—'17', and to the right the second—'59'. Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge a palm branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a bow.

    In the central part of the obverse—St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Above the central image, the inscription in a semicircle reads: '•DVE••KOPEIKI•'.
