    The central part features the denomination in two lines: DЄNGA: Below it, the year of mintage is indicated in Old Church Slavonic: 1700. The central image is surrounded by a linear circle. Outside the circle is the inscription: VSELYA RUSSII SAMODERZHETS. The inscription is interrupted at the top by a stylized cross made of dots and lines. The rim is decorated with dots.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is placed between them.
