Reverse In the central part is the denomination — 10. Below it is the name of the monetary unit: "КОПѢЕКЪ" (KOPEKS). Below the name are two pointed lines directed in opposite directions with a dot between them. Under the lines is the abbreviation "С.М." (Suzun Mint).
Obverse In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. Above the eagle's heads is the imperial crown. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, intertwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. Below the eagle is the year of mintage "1837.".
