Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is positioned above and between the eagle's heads. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Below the right talon is the letter 'D', below the left talon is the letter 'L'. These are the initials of mintmaster Diterik LEEFFKIEN (Dietrich Leefkien — in Russian interpretation Timofey Levkin). Around the eagle is the inscription: VSIEROSISKI SAMODERZHETS 1712
Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Around the portrait is the inscription: TSAR PETR ALEKSIEVICH. Below the portrait is the engraver's initial — the letter 'G' (Solomon Gouin).
