A third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). A chain with the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called encircles the shield. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: 1753: FEBR•5• I AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA•
  • Obverse
Variant 1: The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Empress Elizabeth I (Petrovna). Around the portrait is the text: B•M•ELISAVET•I•IMPERATRITSA•
