The central part features the denomination in two lines: КОПЕИКА Below it, the year of mintage is indicated in Old Church Slavonic: 1705 The center is highlighted by a simple rim. Around the circumference near the edge runs the text: ВСЕѦ РWССIИ САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ - Obverse
In the central part of the obverse is St. George the Victorious on horseback with a spear pointing to the lower right corner (no serpent). Beneath the rider are the mintmark letters «БК» (Naberezhny Mint). The image is enclosed within a linear rim. Above the rider's head is a dot.
