  • Reverse
The upper part of the reverse features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 1 KOPEYKA. Below that is a line, under which are the letters 'I.M.' (Izhersky Mint). On the left side of the coin along the edge is a laurel branch, and on the right an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon. The coin's edge is decorated with a beaded border.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'Ya', under the left 'V'. These are the initials of mintmaster Yakov Vilson (James Wilson). Below the initials is the year of minting '1820.'. The border is decorated with beads.
