Reverse The central part features the denomination – 10. Below is the name of the monetary unit: 'КОПѢЕКЪ' (KOPEKS). Below the name are two pointed lines directed in opposite directions with a dot between them. Under the lines is the abbreviation 'E.M.' (Ekaterinburg Mint).
Obverse The central part depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. Above the eagle's heads is the Imperial Crown. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow – a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, both entwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Under the ribbon are the letters: 'K' on the left, 'T' on the right. These are the initials of mintmaster Konstantin Thomson. Below the initials is the year of mintage '1837.'
