Obverse In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, the heads crowned with two imperial crowns, with a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow, within the shield St. George the Victorious on horseback spearing a dragon. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. On the wings are the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurican, and Finnish. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'A', under the left — the letter 'G'. The initials of Mintmaster Alexander Gertov. The border is decorated with denticles.
