A third, larger crown is placed above and between the eagle's heads. On the eagle's breast is a large depiction of the cross of St. Andrew the Apostle. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Above the eagle, the year of mintage is inscribed in a semicircle: '•1755•'. Below, around the eagle, the text reads: МОНЕТА•ЦЕНА•ПЯТЬ•РУБЛЕI
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of the Russian Empress Elizabeth I Petrovna. From left to right along the edge in an arc runs the inscription: Б•М•ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ•I•IМП•IСАМОД•ВСЕРОС. In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'С П Б' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
