The denomination is indicated on two lines (with asterisks to the left and right) and the monetary unit: ⋆ 1/2 ⋆ KOPEYKI Below, there is a decorative divider in the form of two curved lines with a small circle between them. Under the lines is the coin's year of minting '1894' and below it the mint mark 'S.P.B.'. - Obverse
The upper part of the obverse features the imperial crown with the ends of the ribbon flowing beneath it. The center is occupied by the monogram of Alexander III. Below the monogram is a crossing of a laurel branch (left side) and an oak branch (right side).
