The central part features the denomination—the numeral 2. Above the numeral is the Imperial crown. Below the denomination is a two-line inscription: KOPEYKI. Beneath that is a line, under which are the letters I.M. (Izhersky Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge is an oak branch. The bases of the branches are tied together with a ribbon. The coin's edge is decorated with a beaded border.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Below the eagle is the year of minting '1814'. The border is decorated with beads.
