  • Reverse
The upper part of the coin features the imperial crown. Below it, in the center, the denomination numeral 2 is indicated. Further down is the name of the monetary unit, split into two lines: KOPѢЙ KI. Below that is a straight horizontal line and the abbreviation "E.M." (Yekaterinburg Mint). On the left side of the reverse near the edge is a laurel branch, and on the right is an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon. Raised dots are stamped along the coin's edge.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between the heads. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow – a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter "H", under the left – the letter "M". The initials of mintmaster Nikolay Mundt. Below the initials is the year of mintage "1817". The rim is decorated with dots.
