Reverse In the central part of the coin's disc, against a starry sky, is an image of a launching space rocket; on the left is an image of a planet. A circular inscription: 50 YEARS OF THE FIRST HUMAN SPACEFLIGHT is placed on a wide band along the rim.
Obverse At the top along the edge of the coin are the words BANK OF RUSSIA; at the bottom is the year of issue '2011'. On the left side is an olive branch, and on the right an oak branch. In the central part, the denomination is indicated — the number '10', and below it the currency unit — 'RUBLES'. Inside the digit '0', depending on the viewing angle, the inscriptions '10' and 'RUB' can be seen. Above the year of issue is the mint mark 'SPMD' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
