Below the inscription is a decorative divider in the form of two ornamental lines with a small dot between them. Slightly below this divider is the coin's year of mintage 1840, under which is the abbreviation Е.М. (Yekaterinburg Mint). Raised dots are struck around the entire edge of the coin. - Obverse
The center is occupied by the monogram of Emperor Nicholas I, crowned with an imperial crown. The border is decorated with large dots.
