Reverse Shifted left-upwards, the central element of the coin is the denomination: 5 RUBLES. In the left and right-lower parts of the coin are scrolls of a flowering plant.
Obverse At the top along the rim (edge) are the words 'BANK OF RUSSIA'. In the center of the coin is a double-headed eagle, below it the coin's denomination 'FIVE RUBLES'. Under the eagle's left foot is the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'SPMD'. At the bottom near the coin's edge is the year of mintage '1997', above the year are two pointed, oppositely directed lines with a dot.
