In the central part, Pierre wearing a beret is depicted against a background of human silhouettes.

Below are the Latin letters 'RF' – the abbreviated country name – 'French Republic' (French: République Française), flanked on the left by a cornucopia (the mark of the Paris Mint) and on the right by a pentagon – the mark of the Chief Engraver Yves Sampo. Above the letters is the inscription ten euro '10 EURO'. In the central part is the logo of the Emmaüs organization. Below the logo, in script, are the words of Abbé Pierre '…et les autres?' (…and the others?) and a facsimile of his signature.
