Obverse
In the center, within a relief circle, is the emblem of the XXVIII Summer Olympic Games. Inside the emblem is the name of the host city 'Athens' in Greek, the year of the competition 'ΑΘΗΝΑ 2004', and the Olympic symbol. Below is the inscription 10 euro - '10 ΕΥΡΩ', followed by a stylized acanthus leaf - the mark of the Athens Mint. Along the rim are twelve evenly distributed five-pointed stars.
