    In the central part, the monastery complex is depicted against a background of hills. Along the upper edge is its name 'Troyan Monastery' (Bulgarian: ТРОЯНСКИ МАНАСТИР), below – 'DORMITION OF THE THEOTOKOS' (Bulgarian: УСПЕНИЕ БОГОРОДИЧНО).

    In the left part of the obverse is the icon of the Mother of God 'Three-Handed'. On the right – the inscription ten leva '10 ЛЕВА', below the bank's emblem: a heraldic shield featuring an oak leaf, held by two lions in armor, with a ribbon at the base bearing the year of the bank's foundation '1879'. Below the emblem, the mint year '2014' is written vertically from bottom to top. Along the right edge of the coin is the inscription 'Bulgarian National Bank' in Bulgarian 'БЪЛГАРСКАЯ НАРОДНА БАНКА', on the left – the word 'Specimen'.
