Along the arc of the left edge of the coin is the inscription 'Paris, Banks of the Seine' - 'PARIS, RIVES DE LA SEINE'. On the right, against a background of a partial map of Paris, are the names of architectural monuments merging into one another – 'GRAND PALAIS INVALIDES'. To the left, under the UNESCO organization logo, is a two-line inscription '50 EURO', below which is the year of minting '2015', framed by a cornucopia – the symbol of the Paris Mint – and a pentagon – the mark of the head of the engraving workshop, Yves Sampo. In the lower part is a stylized depiction of the river with two dots indicating the locations of the monuments.
  • Obverse
In the center is an allegorical depiction of the River Seine, with the name of the country 'French Republic' in French, 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE', on its surface. On one side of the river is depicted the facade of the 'Grand Palais', with the glass dome of its hall above it. On the other side is depicted the 'Hôtel des Invalides', with an element of the vault of this building.
