Reverse In the central part, the monument to Peter the Great in Leningrad against the silhouette of the Peter and Paul Fortress. Below is the stamped text "LENINGRAD". To the right of the monument is the date "1782". At the top, along the outer rim of the coin, is the semicircular inscription "MONUMENT TO PETER THE FIRST".
Obverse In the upper part of the coin is the State Emblem of the USSR, encircled by a ribbon (15 turns), below it the letters "USSR", slightly lower the denomination of the coin, the numeral "5" and below the word "RUBLES", at the bottom near the edge is the year of minting "1988".
