The central part features three bees – a symbol of immortality and resurrection, depicted on the coat of arms of Napoleon Bonaparte. With this symbol, Napoleon connected the new dynasty with the royal dynasties of France. On one hand, the bee was a symbol of the Merovingians; on the other, it strongly resembles the inverted lily of the Bourbons. Along the rim are the commemorative dates '1800–1815' and the designation of the issuing state – the abbreviation 'RF' (République française). The denomination of the coin is indicated in the central part.
