    In the upper part of the coin's disc, on a mirrored field, is a stylized image of a Viking ship on a wavy water surface with warriors on board; to the upper right are two fish. In the lower part of the disc is a fragment of a chronicle with an illustration depicting a group of people addressing a prince seated on a throne. On a wide band formed by the rim and a concentric circular line, an inscription runs from left down to right: '1150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORIGIN OF RUSSIAN STATEHOOD'. In the upper part of the band is an ornament of wavy lines.
