    In the central part of the reverse are relief images of an expedition caravan, the Great Wall of China, a pagoda, and a Buddhist temple; below are kulans and yaks. At the top along the rim is the text: RESEARCH OF MONGOLIA CHINA TIBET and dates in two lines '1870' '1873'.
