Around the upper circumference on a matte surface is the text: CHURCH OF THE SIGN OF THE MOST HOLY THEOTOKOS.

    In the upper part, along the rim arc, is the coin's denomination 'THREE RUBLES'. Slightly below and to the left are the metal designation from the periodic table 'Ag' and the fineness '900'.
