    On the surface of the brilliant mirror field of the coin is a scene from the partisan movement of autumn 1812: two captive soldiers warming themselves by a fire, surrounded by four partisans armed with a rifle, an axe, and a pike, one of them on horseback. Below is a shako over crossed weapons, standards, and military accoutrements, beneath them an inscription along the rim: 'PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1812'.

    In the upper part along the arc of the rim is the denomination of the coin 'TWENTY FIVE RUBLES', slightly lower on the left is the name of the metal from Mendeleev's periodic table Ag and the fineness 925, below in the center is the year of minting '2012', lower on the right is the weight of the precious metal in pure form '155.50' and the manufacturer's (mint) designation 'SPMD'. In the central part of a characteristic dotted circle is a double-headed eagle, and below it is the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
