    Within a cartouche against the outline of the city of Kazan, in the center is an Eastern mausoleum, to the right is a figure of a warrior; in the background on the left are the Khan's Mausoleum and the Small Minaret, on the right is the Black Chamber. Around the circumference on a matte background of national ornament is the text: GREAT BULGARS.

    In the upper part along the rim arc is the coin's denomination 'ONE HUNDRED RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left are the metal's designation from Mendeleev's periodic table, Ag, and the fineness 925. Below in the center is the year of minting '2005'. Below on the right are the weight of the pure precious metal '1000.0' and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'SPMD'. In the central part of a characteristic dotted rim is a double-headed eagle, and below it is the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
