On the surface of the brilliant mirror field of the coin, at the bottom left, is a relief fragment of the portrait of Giuseppe Verdi by Giovanni Boldini; in the background on the right is the building of the Bolshoi Kamenny Theatre in St. Petersburg; above it is the composer's facsimile signature; at the top right is a fragment of a musical score; on the left are the outlines of the Peter and Paul Fortress; along the left edge near the rim is a semicircular inscription: 'GIUSEPPE VERDI'.

In the upper part, along the arc of the rim, the denomination of the coin 'TWENTY FIVE RUBLES' is indicated. Slightly below on the left, the metal designation from Mendeleev's periodic table 'Ag' and the fineness '925' are shown. Below, in the center, the year of minting '2013' is placed. Below, on the right, the weight of the precious metal in pure form '155.50' and the manufacturer's (mint) designation 'SPMD' are struck. In the central part of the characteristic dotted border is a double-headed eagle, and below it is struck the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
