  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire - a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow - a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in the left - an orb. Below the right talon is the letter 'M', below the left - the letter 'B'. These are the initials of mintmaster Mikhail Bobrovshchikov. Above the eagle is the year of mintage - '1757'. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: ПОЛУПОЛТИННИКЪ•
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of Russian Empress Elizabeth I Petrovna. Below is the abbreviation 'M M D' (Moscow Mint). From left to right along the edge in an arc runs the inscription: Б•М•ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ•I•IМП: IСАМОД: ВСЕРОС:
