    In the central part of the reverse are relief images of a man, a woman, and a tree, symbolizing the first humans and the pristine nature of Earth. On the sides, attributes of modern civilization encroach upon them: on the left — means of communication (satellite dish, computer monitor, cell phone), on the right — mechanisms (gear wheels). At the bottom along the circumference is the text: RUSSIA AT THE TURN OF THE MILLENNIUM.

    In the upper part along the rim arc is the coin's denomination 'THREE RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left is the metal designation from Mendeleev's periodic table, Ag, and the fineness 900. In the central part of a characteristic dotted rim is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
